PILSNER URQUELL BAR

A bar designed as an additional check-in point for Venice Airport, with Bohemia and one of its iconic brands at the center: award-winning Pilsner Urquell the first “pils” in the world. To avoid any romantic cliché, we brought the Czech atmosphere and geographical context to the forefront using photos, documents, ancient textile and industrial patterns.
The project we developed, winner of an international competition, revolves around a wooden structure, a folded beer garden, welcoming and inviting.

With strong integration of structure, technological elements, and communication, the user is engaged in a multi-level brand experience: from the most explicit to the most subtle, appealing to a deep emotional sphere.

A defining feature is the wooden structure, composed of a sequence of angled elements, simple to produce and assemble. Acting as both a back wall and roof, the structure creates an enclosure on one side and opens on the other three: at ceiling level, technological elements of the lighting system – adjustable spotlights with varying intensity – are hidden between the portals; behind the counter, between the structural uprights, a bottle rack has been created similar to those commonly found in wine bars, providing storage while enhancing the tasting experience and intimate atmosphere.
