ZAPCULTURE – A research on contemporary museum space

A journey through Europe’s leading contemporary art museums, from Tate Modern to Fondation Beyeler, seen through the lens of architecture and cultural transformation.

In 2001, Benedetta Veglia and Francesca Thiebat, founding partners of PAT. architetti associati, began field research across Europe to explore the state and future of contemporary art museums. Søren Engblom, curator at Stockholm’s Moderna Museet, guided us further into this exploration, which spanned institutions such as Tate Modern in London, Kiasma in Helsinki, and the Fondation Beyeler in Basel.
